On June 20 Vitebsk Regional Library became one of the venues of the unified day of information, held in Belarus. The theme of the main question «Belarus - from liberation to independence» was revealed to the library staff by Kirill Filiptsov, chief specialist of the sector of ideological work and youth affairs of the administration of Zheleznodorozhny district of Vitebsk.

He noted the important moments of the feat of Soviet citizens who heroically defended the freedom and independence of the Motherland, the key role of the Belarusian strategic offensive operation «Bagration», which became a model of military art, and the importance of inter-ethnic peace and harmony in the modern republic in bringing the Great Victory closer.

The theme of the unified day of information also includes materials on the prevention of alcoholism and drunkenness, domestic violence, counteraction to illegal drug trafficking. Vladislav Kanaev, chief inspector of the law enforcement and prevention department of the Zheleznodorozhny District Department of Internal Affairs of Vitebsk, told the librarians about the main details of the work in this direction.
