Currently, an easy access to information is a distinctive feature of modern society. Here, public libraries come forward, being an essential part of informational society and fulfilling a great deal of functions, which, among other things, include the exercise of the right to information, creation and storage of massive arrays of information, and classification by branches of knowledge. The library acts as an information vehicle, regardless of where this information comes from – whether from paper or electronic media.

Informational technologies bring changes to the very process of library using. At this moment, the most high-in-demand outcome of information and communication technologies, used on a daily basis in the library, is the creation of its own electronic information products.

Virtual projects, created by the library's employees, can be used via remote access from the library's website or reading rooms.
