The Department of Library Science
The Department of Library Science provides organizational support of the work of libraries of the region, fulfills coordinating functions, helps in the creative and professional development of librarians through the expanded activities of training: seminars, training seminars, workshops, council and courses.
One aspect of the department's work is the analytical work, undertaken through a methodical monitoring. Specialists of the department prepare, publish and disseminate methodical and information-bibliography editions on current issues of librarianship.
At the present stage, the main direction in the work of the department is the innovative activities aimed at finding, assessment, design and implementation of library innovation, support for self-efficient innovation work of public libraries of Vitebsk region.
There are books on library science, records management and information technology, created and constantly updated fund of unpublished documents on librarianship, fond of scenarios, archive of advertising production of libraries. Documents from the department are demanded by numerous users: librarians, students, cultural and arts specialists.
