A Poetic Tribute to the Homeland: New Book Presented at the Library for Independence Day

On July 2nd, the library hosted a literary event titled «Our Poems for You, Belarus!» to celebrate the country's main national holiday – Independence Day. This creative gathering was organized at the initiative of the Vitebsk Regional Branch of the Belarusian Writers' Union.
The event welcomed well-known poets from the Vitebsk region, each bringing their own unique artistic voice. Guests were treated to the perspectives of Nikolai Namestnikov, laureate of the Petrus Brovka Literary Prize, and Vasily Koltunov – a man accustomed to conquering peaks not only in poetry but also in life, as a master of sports in mountaineering.
The highlight of the evening was the presentation of Vasily Koltunov's new poetry collection, «The Year of the Lilac Summer». This book features poems born from inspiration, filled with profound lyricism, sincere love for the world around, and a joyful celebration of life.
As the event concluded, readers had the wonderful opportunity to speak with the author and obtain a keepsake autograph on the new poetry collection.
