The dialogue platform «Women in the family and at work» took place on May 12 at the regional library and was a continuation of the exhibition «The destiny of a woman – the destiny of the Motherland» that opened that same day.
Dedicated to Family Day and the Year of the Belarusian Woman, the gathering reminded participants of life's most essential value – family values, passed down from generation to generation. A woman's role in the family is multifaceted, and she successfully realizes herself in a wide variety of fields.
The speakers at the dialogue platform included: Marina Novitskaya, head of the Main Department of Ideological Work and Youth Affairs of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee and chairperson of the Vitebsk Regional Organization of the Belarusian Union of Women, Yuliya Novikova, deputy editor-in-chief of the regional newspaper «Vitebsk News», Inessa Gornak, Chair of the Vitebsk Regional Notary Chamber, Anna Shpats, deputy head of the Civil Registry Office Department of the Vitebsk City Executive Committee, Alexander Kovalev, head of the Youth Affairs Department, Archpriest of the Vitebsk Diocese of the Belarusian Orthodox Church, Priest Dionisy Andreev, vice-rector for educational work at the Vitebsk Theological Seminary.
The event discussed the well-deserved recognition of women's role not only in the family but also in public life, and the various projects being implemented in this area by the regional organization of the Belarussian Union of Women, the regional newspaper «Vitebsk News», and the Vitebsk Diocese. Legislative regulation of the protection of family, motherhood, and childhood was also discussed. A wonderful tradition was discussed that allows us to mark important family anniversaries and reaffirm our feelings: celebrating anniversaries at the Civil Registry Office.
Family is a fortress, a source of strength and inspiration. A strong family is the foundation of a healthy society, the key to its well-being and prosperity.
