Success Laboratory: from idea to printing!

We live in a world where information surrounds us everywhere. But how does it get into our hands? How much work and technology was behind its creation?
The leading printing company of the Vitebsk region became a participant in the career guidance project «Success Laboratory: from idea to business». On March 20, a meeting of high school students of secondary school № 11 named after M. Bakhtin with professionals in the field of printing was held in the regional library. The event was held with the participation of representatives of the Vitebsk Regional Printing House — Director Alexander Borodiy and Deputy Head of the Production Department Alesya Ralovets.
Traditionally, the work of the laboratory began with an interactive part, which allowed schoolchildren to test their knowledge of the history of printing. Teenagers learned how the technologies for producing books and other types of printed products have changed over time, and how this affected the process of their creation.
During the meeting, representatives of the printing house spoke about the necessary skills and knowledge for working in this field. They emphasized the importance of technical literacy, creative thinking and the ability to work in a team. They also discussed the career prospects that are opening up for young specialists in the printing industry.
Alexander Borodiy noted in his speech that the company is interested in qualified specialists. Starting this year, the printing house begins to provide targeted training, which opens up new opportunities for young people who want to connect their careers with printing.
As part of the event, the staff of the general reading room presented an exhibition of books from the library's collection, printed in the regional printing house. The exhibition became an important addition to the meeting, allowing schoolchildren not only to hear about professions in printing, but also to see the results of their work. Each book is not just a set of pages, but the result of teamwork. Alesya Ralovets drew attention to the unique publications that are the pride of the printing house. Schoolchildren learned about the process of their creation, from design development to printing. The printing house employees shared the good news with particular excitement: in 2025, the company will celebrate its 105th anniversary. A unique book dedicated to the history of the regional printing house is being prepared for this date.
The meeting inspired schoolchildren to think about the possibility of linking their fate with the large friendly team of the Vitebsk Regional Printing House, whose motto is: «We love what we print!»
