XXIII Regional Educational Sretensky Readings

On February 27, Section 4 «Library – the Center of Spiritual and Moral Education and Upbringing» was held at the Vitebsk Regional Library named after V. Lenin as part of the XXIII Regional Educational Sretensky Readings «Spiritual, Moral and Patriotic Education as an Educational Priority: Traditions and Innovations».
Tatyana Adamyan, Director of the State Institution «Vitebsk Regional Library named after V. Lenin», and Archpriest Andrei Smolsky, Head of the Department of Religious Education and Catechesis of the Vitebsk Diocese, addressed the participants of the sectional meeting with a welcoming speech. In her report «Educational Activities of the Public Library: Christian Values as a Guide» Olga Komendantova, Deputy Director of the State Institution «Vitebsk Regional Library named after V. Lenin», analyzed the spiritual and educational activities of public libraries in the region, noted the accumulated considerable professional experience, certain trends in this area, but the special attention of those present was focused on existing problems and ways to overcome them. Elena Babich, a methodologist at the State Institution of Additional Adult Education «Vitebsk Regional Institute for Education Development», shared her experience of libraries in the education system, giving a report «Orthodox Regional Studies: Library Initiatives and Projects». The participants of the readings listened with interest to the report of Inna Volkova, head of the library of the educational institution «Vitebsk State Technical College», «Improvement and development of successfully proven forms and methods of work on spiritual, moral and patriotic education of children and youth» and the report of Tatyana Savchik, head of the marketing and methodological work department of the Liozno central district library of the state cultural institution «Liozno centralized library system», «Spiritual education through culture: from the experience of working with children and youth in the Liozno central district library». Yulia Izotova, head of the library of the state educational institution «Secondary School No. 18 of Pinsk», joined the work of the section in an online format. In the report «The role of the library in the spiritual and moral education of the child's personality. Game forms of work» she spoke about interactive forms of work with children. Inna Karaban, head of the Bogatyrskaya library-branch № 48 of the state cultural institution «Polotsk district centralized library system», introduced the participants of the section to the spiritual and educational project ««Light of spirituality»: from the experience of the Bogatyrskaya rural library».
At the end of the section, Irina Navarenko, head of the department of legal information and electronic resources of the Vitebsk regional library named after V. Lenin, presented the electronic resources of the Vitebsk regional library on Orthodox local history to the participants of the section meeting.
The Zoom platform allowed another 30 representatives of educational institutions and libraries to participate in the work of the section.
The moderators of the section were Archpriest Andrei Smolsky, Olga Komendantova, Elena Babich.
