Round table on patriotic education: cooperation between Vitebsk and Smolensk libraries

On May 29, Vitebsk regional library named after V. Lenin together with Smolensk regional universal scientific library named after A. Tvardovsky held a round table «Patriotic education of new generations of citizens as a strategic priority of library activity».

The representatives of Smolensk regional library for children and youth named after I. Sokolov-Mikitov and Vitebsk regional methodical center for folk art are took part in the meeting.

The librarians from Vitebsk and Smolensk shared the most significant and successful projects of patriotic orientation, which are realized in various formats – exhibitions, electronic resources, interactive youth and club projects, and others.

The chairmen of the boards of Vitebsk branch of the Belarusian peace foundation and the Smolensk branch of the Russian peace foundation told about their activities in the formation of a patriotic system of values for young people.

At the end of the round table an agreement on cooperation and realization of joint projects of patriotic orientation was signed between the regional libraries of Vitebsk and Smolensk. Tatyana Adamyan and Olga Maltseva announced that within 2 years online and offline events will be organized, the first of which will take place in September.
