In modern society, information plays a key role in the development of social relations. The right to access it is enshrined among the basic constitutional rights and freedoms of citizens.

In Belarus, state policy in the field of information resources protection is aimed at ensuring their safety, accessibility and confidentiality. «The Concept of Information Security of the Republic of Belarus» offers a comprehensive approach to this problem.

On November 28, a media hour «Information and Information Security» was held for first-year students of the Department of Law and Social and Humanitarian Disciplines of the Vitebsk branch of the International University «MITSO» in the Department of Legal Information and Electronic Resources.

Yulia Dirko, a specialist at the Legal Information Center, spoke about the state system of legal information. The students got acquainted with the work of the department, its collection and electronic resources of the regional library.

Such interaction helps students better understand the meaning of information and the importance of its security in the modern world, as well as learn sources for finding relevant and reliable information.
