XXII Republican St. Euphrosyne Pedagogical Readings

The regional stage of the XXII Republican St. Euphrosyne Pedagogical Readings on the topic «The Role of the Orthodox Book in Spiritual, Moral and Patriotic Education» was held on November 22 at the Vitebsk Regional Institute for Education Development.
The event was organized by the Main Education Department of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, the Vitebsk Diocese of the Belarusian Orthodox Church and the Vitebsk Regional Institute for Education Development. The participants included teachers, representatives of the scientific community, specialists working with children and youth, as well as clergy.
The Vitebsk Regional Library named after V. Lenin took part in the readings, presenting the experience of cooperation with the Vitebsk Diocese within the framework of the «Living Word of Spiritual Wisdom» program. Head of the General Reading Room Tatyana Pototskaya presented a report on «Orthodoxy and Culture: Library Resources for Spiritual Education». The activities of the spiritual and educational center, the projects of the «Ex Libris» exhibition hall, informational and educational events of various forms and content, batleika performances - this work of the library is aimed at forming the spiritual and moral consciousness of readers. Particular attention was paid to the multimedia project «Patron Saints of the Vitebsk Region», which became the best cultural project on patriotic topics according to the decision of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Belarus based on the results of 2023.
Interest in the regional stage of the XXII Republican St. Euphrosyne Pedagogical Readings was high: the event was held in offline and online formats, demonstrating the active involvement of more than 300 participants from all over the Vitebsk region. The sections discussed issues dedicated to the importance of books for spiritual heritage, personality formation and patriotic education.
