Regional archive of periodicals

Vitebsk Regional Library is the center for storing regional periodicals.
City and regional publications, as well as newspapers from most districts of the Vitebsk region, have been stored here since the post-war period. This part of the library collection has always attracted the attention of library readers. Periodicals are an interesting source for studying the history of the region, the history of the country.
For the preservation of periodicals, they are digitized. In order to improve the efficiency of using digitized publications, the library staff has created a new electronic resource – «Regional Archives of Periodicals». The resource in PDF format presents electronic versions of newspapers published in the Vitebsk region since 1946. The collection of newspapers includes regional, city, district publications, as well as publications of enterprises in the region.
The archive has been formed since 2022 and is updated daily with new documents. Access to the full texts of periodicals is provided locally in the reading rooms of the Vitebsk Regional Library named after V. Lenin.
