Creative evening of Olga Rusilko «Choose one line»

On September 17, the library hosted a creative evening of the poet, prose writer, and literary scholar Olga Rusilko «Choose one line».
Olga Rusilko is a candidate of philological sciences, associate professor, teacher, member of the Union of Writers of Belarus, author of poetry collections «Tabe» (1996), «Azhyna» (2004), «B.I.P» (2009), «Scezhka, scezhachka, scezhynka» (2013) and 200 scientific, literary-critical, educational, methodological publications, monographs. Co-author of the textbook «Belarusian Literature. Grade 8». Laureate of the literary prizes named after Vladimir Karatkevich and Petrus Brovka of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee. At the beginning of the meeting, Olga Rusilko noted how close the National Unity Day is to her, because she is a native of the Grodno region, her native village Bershty is located on the border of Belarus and Lithuania.
Fate connected Olga Rusilko with the Vitebsk region, she devoted about forty years to teaching at the Vitebsk State University. And immediately after graduating from the Belarusian State University, Olga Rusilko worked as a teacher of the Belarusian language and literature at Secondary School № 25 in Vitebsk. Her former student, and later a student, a teacher of the Belarusian language and literature at Secondary School № 12 Zhanna Daderkina warmly recalled her first meeting with Olga Rusilko, and her student years, and the good relations that continue to this day. And her gift was a song based on a poem by Olga Rusilko, performed «a cappella». The speech of the teacher of the Belarusian language and literature of the gymnasium № 7, poetess Elena Ginko, was also bright and warm. Members of the Vitebsk regional branch of the Union of Writers of Belarus, poets Elena Kriklivets and Nikolai Namestnikov noted not only the poetic talent of Olga Rusilko, but also her kindness, compassion, attention to those around her.
On the video pages of the «Old Album» made by Fyodor Grinevsky, everyone saw the familiar faces of Vitebsk poets and writers, representatives of the creative intelligence, university teachers, with whom Olga Rusilko held many literary evenings.
Olga Rusilko introduced everyone to her poetic and prose works, recently published in the magazines «Maladost» and «Polymya», read poems that have long been loved by readers. The musical talent of Olga Rusilko was a discovery for many of those present. Her song «Geata vosen», arranged by Valery Domoratsky, was once performed by the members of the vocal studio «Chance». A video clip of this song was shown at the evening. The famous Belarusian musicologist, composer Alina Bezenson included a cycle of songs based on Olga Rusilko's poems in her collection of vocal works «My Zvonkaspavny Kray».
The teachers and students of Vitebsk State University, teachers of Belarusian language and literature of the city schools, students, and library staff expressed their good wishes to Olga Rusilko.
