XIII interregional scientific and practical conference «Smolensk residents in the service of the Fatherland»

On September 5–6, the Smolensk Regional Universal Scientific Library named after A. Tvardovsky is hosting the XIII interregional scientific and practical conference «Smolensk residents in the service of the Fatherland» as part of the implementation of the project «Library Cluster of the Smolensk Region: A communicative and intellectual platform for the scientific and local history community».
On September 5, at the plenary session of the conference in an online format, the head of the local history department of the Vitebsk Regional Library Larisa Rogacheva spoke with a report «"We are baptized by the same fire": natives of the Smolensk region awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union during the liberation of the Vitebsk region».
Within the framework of the Agreement on cultural and information cooperation in the sphere of civil-patriotic and spiritual-moral education, signed earlier, librarians of Vitebsk and Smolensk have begun work on the creation of an electronic resource «From Operation "Suvorov" to Operation "Bagration"», which will include information about natives of Vitebsk and Smolensk who were awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union during the liberation of our regions from the Nazi invaders.
