Vitebsk and Pskov: a new stage of cooperation in preserving historical memory and patriotic education

The international round table "Dedicated to the 80th Anniversary of the Great Victory" brought together Belarusian and Russian librarians, local historians, and historians on August 30 at the Pskov Regional Universal Scientific Library named after V. Kurbatov as part of the Days of the Vitebsk Region in Pskov.
Representatives of the Vitebsk and Pskov regional libraries spoke about the resources created and current projects to preserve historical memory and patriotic education.
The professional meeting of librarians from Belarus and Russia resulted in a plan of joint actions signed by the Acting Chairperson of the Pskov Region Committee on Culture V. Alekseeva, the Head of the Culture Department of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee P. Podgursky, the Acting Director General of the Pskov Regional Universal Scientific Library named after V. Kurbatov L. Egorova and the Director of the Vitebsk Regional Library named after V. Lenin Tatyana Adamyan on the basis of the current Agreement on Cooperation between Regional Universal Libraries of the Border Territories of the CIS Member States.
The plan provides for holding scientific and practical conferences and meetings, online projects and marathons, exchange of exhibitions, preparation of thematic information publications dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic war in 2024–2025.
At the end of the meeting, there was a tour of the exhibition from the collection of the Center for Work with Rare and Valuable Documents "They were united by 1944" and a tour of the model library – the Children's Reading Center.
