This year marks the 150th birthday of the great Russian composer, pianist, and conductor Sergei Rachmaninoff.
The lecture by composer Alexander Ivanov, which took place on May 22, was devoted to separate stages in life and work of Sergey Vasilyevich. Little-known facts and details, based on documentary sources, allowed the audience to touch the unraveling of Rachmaninoff's work.
During the event, Alexander Ivanov played preludes by the composer, recordings of romances and excerpts from symphonies and concerts were played.
