Advocacy made a long way: from a class of sworn attorneys, colleges of legal advocates to the creation of the first legal consultations in the history of Belarus in 1922.
Advocacy is an independent institution designed to carry out professional human rights protection activities. The main objective of the advocacy is to provide qualified legal assistance to natural and legal persons in order to protect their rights, freedoms and legitimate interests. The activity of the advocacy serves the principles of lawfulness, justice and humanism.
Public Centre of Legal Information has prepared an information digest «Bar Association in the Republic of Belarus» containing normative legal acts of the Republic of Belarus and articles from magazines, which introduce the notion of bar, establishment and development of the bar in the Republic of Belarus, connection between mediation and legal profession and recent changes in the legislation.
The information digest is addressed to students, postgraduates and teachers of law institutes, advocates, practicing lawyers and specialists, interested in advocacy and advocacy issues.
