Literary-musical evening «And today with us Kolas and Kupala»

On November 3, on the day of the 140th anniversary of the national belarusian poet Jakub Kolas, literary-musical evening «And today with us Kolas and Kupala» took place in the library.
On this day for good reason was mentioned the names of two national belarusian poets Jakub Kolas and Janka Kupala: their contribution in belarusian literature and in development of belarusian language as well as belarusian culture is invaluable. The friendship of two belarusian folk singers lasted nearly four decades. The head of the Vitebsk regional branch of the Public Organization «The Union of the Belarusian Writers» Tamara Krasnova-Gusachenko and the host of the evening and the head of the department of local history Larisa Rogacheva talked about it in their speeches.
Literary critics note that in the poem of Jakub Kolas «New land» everyone can find what corresponds to his needs and preferences: one can find earthly philosophy, the other – fishing and hunting, the third – childhood memories... Perhaps, that's why lines from this poem were mentioned by the participants of the evening most often. An extract from the poem of Jakub Kolas «New land» was read with feeling by the poetess Inna Solomakho. A bright performance of the leading master of the stage of the Jakub Kolas National Academic Drama Theatre didn't leave indifferent nobody of present.
The poetess Galina Zagurskaya talked about popular folk singers Janka Kupala and Jakub Kolas. The head of the museum of the History of Private Collections Vasiliy Pavluchkov invited participants of the evening to get acquainted with the exhibition project «Unforgettable image of a folk singer», dedicated to the 140th anniversary of Jakub Kolas. This project is from collection of the Jakub Kolas State Literature Memorial Museum.
The evening was adorned by songs performed by the folk chamber choir of the State Insitution «The Center of culture Vitebsk» under the direction of Tatyana Zhdanova and the head of folk music ensemble «Zhaleyka» from the cultural Institution «Golden ring of the city Vitebsk «Dvina» Anastasiya Karabanova.
