Virtual project «Vitebsk region in the war of 1812»

2022, declared by the President of the Republic of Belarus the Year of Historical Memory, gave start to a new virtual project of the library «Vitebsk region in the war of 1812».

It is not by chance that Vitebsk regional library named after V. Lenin turned to the significant historical event, which is directly related to our Vitebsk land. This heroic page in the history of the struggle of the Belarusian people with the Grand Army of Emperor Napoleon should not be forgotten, because in many cases the events of the first months of the war are not taken into consideration, which mainly took place in the Belarusian lands, including the territory of Vitebsk.

The literature from the library funds, represented by the encyclopedic sources, works of military men, scientists, historians, as well as articles about the events of 1812 published in periodicals of local lore of Vitebsk region was used for the virtual project.

The presented information resource will tell about an important page in the history of the Vitebsk region, which every resident of the Vitebsk region can be proud of.
