On May 24, the thematic evening «From Cyril and Methodius to our days» devoted to the Day of Slavonic Script and Culture, which is celebrated in Belarus as a state-church holiday in honor of Saints Cyril and Methodius Equal to the Apostles was held in the library.
Pupils of the 8th grade of Vitebsk secondary school № 11 got acquainted with the activity of the founders of the Slavonic alphabet and the history of the holiday. Special attention was paid to unique editions, which were presented by the head of the Rare Book Department Olga Lebedeva.
